belgian designer duo muller van severen has created‘the pillow sofa’, a modular seating that takes its cues from KASSL editions’‘pillow bags’. wrapped in the fashion brand’s oil-coated fabric, the sofa resembles multiple‘pillow bags’puzzled together to evoke and create a soft yet bold seating area.‘the pillow sofa’is developed using the original white, black and camel oil fabrics of limonta, the italian supplier that KASSL works with, complemented by penetrating colorways of green, navy and sky blue.

intrigued by the functionality and the straight-forward and appealing character of KASSL editions‘‘pillow bags’, muller van severen took on the challenge to create a series of highly covetable design seating. first presented in 2019,‘pillow bags’became a fashion must-have, praised for their soft design, bold colours, and resistant material. the‘pillow’sofa’employs the same high-quality, indestructible oil fabric from italian supplier limonta, and combines the original white, black and camel hues with green, navy and sky blue colorways.
available in two different seating formats, frontal and corner,‘the pillow sofa’resembles multiple bags put together to create a soft yet bold seating area. sparked within the context of wallpaper* re-made project, the creative collaboration between KASSL editions and muller van severen will be presented during the opening of amsterdam fashion week, with a‘one night only’guerrilla expo at museum voorlinden on thursday 17 september, 2020. from 18 september, the sofa will be on display at graanmarkt 13 store in antwerp, while it will also be on display in milan during the salone del mobile design fair in 2021.
