photographer mengzhu jiang has captured the interiors of kazuyo sejima’s arts and science faculty building at the osaka university of arts (previous coverage here). the pritzker laureate, who also practices alongside ryue nishizawa at SANAA, developed the building as a three-tiered roof composed of gently undulating concrete canopies. the project has served as the arts and science faculty building of the university since its opening in 2018.

kazuyo sejima has gently placed the concrete and glass faculty building on top of the curved site at the osaka university of arts campus. captured here by mengzhu jiang, the interiors of the the glass and concrete structure blend into the surroundings and ensure direct visual connections to the rest of the campus. the ground floor has been designed to be as flexible as possible, with tables and chairs arranged throughout its open plan. more private spaces have been placed at the perimeter of the structure, separated by aluminum panels from the rest of the building.
