in november last year, scotland qualified for euro 2020, their first major men’s football tournament since 1998. inspired by the tartan army’s unbelievable success, scottish artist craig black created‘the fusion series – footballs’, an artistic installation that takes the colors from countries’national kits and pours them over footballs to stunning marble effect.
spain
to realize the project, black used his acrylic fusion paint-pouring technique over nine white footballs. from spain’s fiery red and yellow kit to italy’s savoy blue, each ball represents a country competing in the euro 2020 tournament. the artworks have been captured in still images as well as video in order to showcase the mesmerizing process the artist uses to create each unique installation.
