the untraditional silhouette of the BMW motorrad CE 04 is driving change, literally. the model is an all-new electrically powered urban two-wheeler. the original design was shown as the concept link in 2017 and then near finalized in 2020, but now is ready for series production. the forward-looking design features innovative connectivity at its heart as it hopes to be the future of city mobility.

with an output of 31 kW (42 hp), the BMW motorrad CE 04 zips from 0 to 50 km/h (31 mph) in 2.6 seconds up to a max speed of 120 km/h (75 mph). riders can speedily move around the city as well on main roads and motorways. the flat battery, positioned under the body for a low center of gravity, offers an ample capacity of 8.9 kWh and a range of 130 km (81 miles) for easy day-to-day emission-free driving. fast charging with 6.9 kW takes 1 hour and 40 minutes to fully reenergize or just 45 minutes from 20 to 80%. four riding modes – ECO, rain, road and dynamic – fit all types of journeys.
the two-wheeler visualizes a modern, untraditional silhouette with an elongated, low-vehicle body – due to the flat battery position – and rising front end. throughout, the surface treatment pairs smooth plains with disruptive, dynamic edges. the‘floating’seat, a distinctive feature since its conception, is a highlight along with the solid wheels that have a disc-wheel look.
the bodywork of the CE 04 resounds in a modern surface finish of striking light white that is complemented by matt black sections at the front and side. alternatively, a megellan grey metallic option is available which contrasts dramatically with a black and orange seat. the mobility vehicle’s accessories also appear in a bright orange tone, such as the storage compartments and 10.25-inch TFT color screen with integrated map navigation.
