bottega veneta at palazzo san fedele
UPDATE (02.28.2022): following the first glimpse of its new headquarters last week, bottega veneta returned to milan fashion week with matthieu blazy’s debut show for the brand on saturday, february 26th. the new creative director’s winter 2022 collection was showcased inside palazzo san fedele, a late 19th-century building in the heart of milan that’s currently undergoing an extensive refurbishment by studio asti architetti to become bottega veneta’s new HQ.

building on the past
the building, which is still under construction, turned green for the fashion show with all the openings on the façade closed with panels in bottega veneta’s signature‘parakeet’color. the stripped back space inside created a raw aesthetic with traces of the past left exposed, echoing the concept behind matthieu blazy’s debut collection for the italian fashion house. ‘in creative director matthieu blazy’s foundation collection there is a return to a fundamental questioning of the brand: a building on the past to realize the present and evoke the future,’read the bottega veneta show notes.
the pared back interior of palazzo san fedele was populated with a symmetrical array of stools made from crushed metal and topped with the brand’s clutch leather pillow bags, which guests were welcome to take home. meanwhile, a system of overhead spotlights was rigged up on scaffolding in between the building’s existing columns.

bottega veneta is back online
in addition to its milan headquarters, bottega veneta also launched a new app in anticipation of matthieu blazy’s debut collection for the brand. the app marks a return to the digital world as the famous fashion house deleted its facebook, instagram and twitter accounts back in january 2021.
described as‘a doorway into the world of the brand’, the app turns bottega veneta’s parakeet green into a real‘green screen’. check out the videos below to see how it works, and download the app via the app store or google play. the platform‘for creative encounters’will be regularly updated with new content, features and functionalities.
