在文学艺术的长河里,松作为常见的中国文化意象,频繁出现在诗歌和绘画作品中。白居易这首《庭松》,不写山野之松,却道一片庭院中的寻常松树,栽种之法看似杂乱无章,“有如野生之物”,实则杂乱中又隐藏了诗意。

In the long river of literature and art, pine, as a common Chinese cultural image, frequently appears in poetry and painting works. Bai Juyi’s poem ” Pine in court” does not write about pine trees in nature, but rather about ordinary pine trees in a courtyard. The planting method seems chaotic and “like wild things,” but in reality, there is a hidden poetic meaning in the chaos.

险些被砍掉的松林
A merely demolished pine forest

故里日照吴家台村西有一座丘陵,原为荒山,友人闫早宁先生耗时二十年,改为茶园,命名“云过山丘”。闫先生邀我给这个园子做些新事物。初次进园信步闲逛,蹴然进入一片松林,其间松树如白居易《庭松》之松,杂乱生气,虽由人栽,却似野生之物。松林幽暗,地面堆叠厚厚松针。闫先生却想把这片树砍掉,他怕松针易燃,但松树为亲手所植,又有不舍。我提议可做一个松树下的场所,譬如剧场,以解两难。这些松针是上好的燃料,小时候的火房里经常是松针燃烧的味道,颇为治愈。说话的间隙,微风吹过,松针飘落,刹那间,我很想织一张网把这些自然掉落的松针接住。松针如松树的衣服,场所便以《松衣剧场》为题。

There is a hill in the west Rizhao, my hometown. It was originally a barren mountain, but my friend Mr. Yan Zanning spent 20 years changing it to a tea garden and naming it “Cloud Passing Hill”. Mr. Yan invited me to do some new things for this garden. For the first time strolling in the garden, one suddenly enters a pine forest, where the pine trees are like those in Bai Juyi’s “Ting Song”, messy and lively. Although planted by humans, they look like wild animals. The pine forest is dark, with thick pine needles stacked on the ground. Mr. Yan, on the other hand, wanted to cut down this tree because he was afraid that pine needles would be flammable, but the pine tree was planted by hand and he was reluctant to part with it. I suggest creating a place under a pine tree, such as a theater, to solve the dilemma. These pine needles are excellent fuel, and when I was a child, the smell of pine needles burning in the fire room was often very healing. During my speech, a gentle breeze blew through and pine needles fell. In an instant, I wanted to weave a net to catch these naturally falling pine needles. The clothes of pine needles are like those of pine trees, and the site is inspired as “Pine Clothes Theater”, pronounce songyi in Chinese.

无限接近自然
Infinite proximity to nature

中国人与自然的亲密接触,深藏于基因,滥觞于文学。王维绝句,陶潜信笔。山石皆依靠,草木皆友人。古人喜好在自然里修房筑亭,让日常活动和自然万物处在一种妙趣的关系中。中国山水画,自唐至今,从《富春山居》到宾虹笔墨,都在记录这些情景。松衣剧场也在这片松林中展开。

The close contact between Chinese people and nature is deeply rooted in genes and originated in literature. Wang Wei’s quatrains, Tao Qianxin’s pen. All mountains and stones are relied on, and all plants and trees are friends. The ancients liked to build houses and pavilions in nature, allowing daily activities to be in a fascinating relationship with all things in nature. Chinese Shan shui has been recording these scenes since the Tang Dynasty, from “Fuchun Mountain Dwelling” to Binhong’s ink work. The Songyi Theater is also unfolding in this pine forest.

场地之魅
The charm of the site

晚间画草图,松林下设构筑,构筑上织网。隔天放线,松林中踱步,松树间距宽窄不一,但恰有环形间隙环绕松林,遂将间隙作为环形廊道,松林南部有高台,拟作舞台。石膏粉放线后,闫先生诧异,不砍一树,却成廊道,似乎这片松林早已准备好安放这个廊道。我也惊奇,这可能就是“自然之魅”吧!

Therefore, the gap was used as a circular corridor, and there was a high platform in the south of the pine forest, which was planned to be used as a stage. After the gypsum powder was laid out, Mr. Yan was surprised. Instead of cutting down a tree, it became a corridor, as if the pine forest was already ready to accommodate this corridor. I’m also surprised, this may be the charm of nature.

松林栽“树”
Planting “Trees” in Pine Forests

用钢材来实现这个剧场,价廉且快速。闫先生找来这一带最好的电焊匠人李师傅,一起直奔钢材市场挑选材料。结构主体用三十二毫米直径的空心钢管为主材,十五毫米直径为辅材。而想要的“轻盈的网”,寻遍市场,只一种规格钢丝网合适。最初构想为一组组直立的“树”与松林相立,半天便把一组搭建完成。晚上细化草图,因疲惫而出的歪歪扭扭手绘稿,突然给了灵感,何不做成野趣生长的歪歪扭扭的雕塑树呢?第二天便改变做法,焊好雕塑树,栽到地里去。过程如春天植树,期待与妙趣横生。

The main structure is made of 32 millimeter diameter hollow steel pipes as the main material, and 15 millimeter diameter as auxiliary materials. The initial idea was for a group of upright “trees” to stand in front of a pine forest, and the group was built in half a day. At night, refining the sketches, the crooked and twisted manuscripts produced due to exhaustion suddenly gave inspiration. Why not create a wild and twisted sculpture tree? The next day, he changed his approach by welding the sculpture tree and planting it in the ground. The process is like planting trees in spring, filled with anticipation and wit.

“树”与“树”结构相连成一个整体,上附接松针的网采用一米半的模数,与“树”的比例相合。既保证了自然卷曲的柔性,也保证了范围内的韧性。整片新栽的“树”占松树林约五分之一。一边是自然松林,一边是硬朗又轻柔的雕塑树,可爱地对立又自然地融入。

光色之舞
Dance of Light and Color

雕塑树构筑通体银色,和着浓绿松林背景,银灰和绿色成为剧场的主题色。在不同时段,剧场呈现不同的光色变化:晴天银光闪闪,阴天松绿浓重,雨天银网挂满雨滴,晶莹剔透;朝霞落日或魏紫,或金黄。满铺灰色玄武岩石子的地面也在这般变化中光影丰富起来:松林的投影随风而动,形态自由;构筑的投影几何感十足且边界分明,金属网的影子细密而柔和,三者叠加,趣味奇妙。

The sculpture tree is constructed in a silver color, with a thick green pine forest background, and silver gray and green become the theme colors of the theater. At different times, the theater presents different changes in light and color: silver glitters on sunny days, dense pine green on cloudy days, and raindrops hanging on the silver screen on rainy days, crystal clear; Morning and sunset, or Wei purple, or golden yellow. The ground covered in gray basalt stones is also enriched with light and shadow in such changes: the projection of the pine forest moves with the wind, with free form; The constructed projection has a strong geometric sense and clear boundaries, and the shadows of the metal mesh are fine and soft. The three are superimposed, making it interesting and wonderful.

入夜灯光亮起,整个剧场霎时变得梦幻起来。一片深绿色调的松林背景衬托散发着银色光芒的雕塑树林,柔光漫射的金属网犹如漂浮在空中。自然和人工构筑在这一刻相融,现实和虚幻合一,超现实主义的美学之舞在剧场上演。

凋落与新生
Fallen and rebirth

松衣剧场的灵感来自于凋落的松针,并试图与之产生链接。在第一片金属网固定上去的时候,松针便开始落下,果然是属于松针的剧场。松针总是两棵长到一起,倒挂在“网衣”上。山风吹拂,松针轻轻晃动,凋落的松针被再次赋予生命力。从松林看去,松针似漂浮在空中,颇有几丝禅意。予平凡事物以诗意,是对自然最好的致敬。

The inspiration for the Songyi Theater comes from the fallen pine needles and attempts to create a connection with them. When the first metal mesh was fixed, the pine needles began to fall, and it was indeed a theater belonging to the pine needles. Pine needles always grow together and hang upside down on the “net coat”. The mountain breeze blew, and the pine needles swayed gently. The withered pine needles were once again given vitality. From the pine forest, pine needles seem to float in the air, with a hint of Zen. Giving poetry to ordinary things is the best tribute to nature.

剧场无界,使用亦无限制,可做舞台,可游逛,可聆听鸟语,夏天纳凉,冬日赏雪,可静思,可冥想。剧场也是动物的舞台:松鼠跳跃其上,蝴蝶常常来做客。最动人的画面,是蹒跚学步的娃娃在剧场中踱步,孩子喜欢松软石子,亦好奇于这片夜色的构筑。

Creating without established drawings is always full of surprises and surprises. Throughout the entire process, the designer’s thinking, perception, and body engage in repeated conversations with the site, constantly providing feedback to the design, while the construction workers also create randomness. At the beginning, no one will know the predetermined outcome, but the outcome arises amidst many uncertainties. This improvised state of taking advantage of the situation leads to unexpected expectations and outcomes within a large framework.

一切工作都导向诗意空间的塑造。松林,构筑,光影,色彩,阴阳,虚实,时间,空间,都是设计要素;剧场中的一切人、事、物、状态,都是情境的塑造者。松衣剧场希望成为弱化边界的画布,舞蹈,音乐,自然气候的雨、露、风、雪,飞鸟,蝴蝶和昆虫,一切自然与人工,入幕即为画,皆成诗意情景的创造者。在松衣剧场,我们希望每一次的松衣落下,都被轻柔的丝网捕捉。让自然成为背景,也让自然成为主角,让到来的所有事物的每一次出场和入场,都与剧场一起塑造空间的诗学。

东坡先生之诗,将松与水并置,对比水的自由与松柏的坚定。阴阳相生,刚柔并济,中国文化总是在对立中寻找平衡和统一。而松在中国文化中的意义早已经超越植物学本身,它所赋予的意向所指,气意高远。古人多借松言情明志:“何当凌云霄,直上数千尺”“寒暑不能移,岁月不能败者,惟松柏为然。”表达古人坚毅之气。

Mr. Dongpo’s poem juxtaposes pine and water, contrasting the freedom of water with the firmness of pine and cypress. Yin and Yang coexist, combining hardness and softness, and Chinese culture always seeks balance and unity in opposition. 松作为常用园林造景树,也被作户外家具之用。在中国山水画中,常见将曲松之干作为倚靠之器的妙用。更进一步,松树被作为天然的柱子来使用。在袁枚的《随园诗话》中,他记录了如何利用六棵松树做亭子,而六松亭也成为袁枚最得意的作品之一。

营造云过山丘茶园艺术区“松衣剧场”时,恰逢暖春。我最喜欢拿着马扎,坐在松树底下和工人师傅聊天。一日坐的位置正巧对着几棵松树,细数共八棵,姿巧势好。何不依托这八棵松树,做个有趣的物件呢?袁枚以六松做亭,我若八松为椅,岂不惬意?索性以美人靠的形态设计座椅。我迅速在场地中勾勒草图构思,一团曲线盘在几棵松树之间。

When creating the “Songyi Theater” in the Yunguo Mountain Tea Garden Art District, it coincided with warm spring. My favorite thing is to sit under a pine tree with a Maza and chat with the workers. The position where I sat one day happened to be facing several pine trees, with a total of eight carefully counted, with a good posture and momentum. Why not rely on these eight pine trees to create an interesting object? Yuan Mei used six pine trees as a pavilion, and if I were eight pine trees as a chair, wouldn’t it be pleasant? Simply design the seat in the form of a beauty seat. I quickly sketched the concept on the site, with a curved circle between several pine trees.

美人靠
MeiRen Kao

美人靠是中国传统建筑和园林中一类独立家具,或连接阁楼与庭院交叠的灰空间,或与户外长廊结合,或独立与亭子。最美莫过溪边亭的美人靠,佳人斜倚,流水潺潺。

Meirenjiao is a type of independent furniture in traditional Chinese architecture and gardens, or a gray space that connects the attic and courtyard, or is combined with outdoor corridors, or is independent of pavilions. The most beautiful thing is the beauty leaning against the pavilion by the stream, where the beauty leans and the flowing water babbles.

营造中的力与美
Power and Beauty in Construction

想要刚柔并济,钢筋成为实现这种弯曲流动结构的最佳材料,我决定用创作雕塑的方法来完成。松树间的相互关系复杂,没做具体测绘工作无法用标准的设计图纸来实现精确的图纸设计。我和两位工人师傅一起,依靠现场的直觉,在八棵松树之间用钢筋盘出三根曲线,松树立刻成为一个整体。最上的线条界定了美人靠的靠背,下面两根界定坐凳部分的前后两端。轮廓定点放线完成,继而竖向架立筋支撑。曲线钢筋插入地面和前三条线相交,双向曲线的相交在反复试错中得到顺滑相接。钢筋有韧性,曲率越小的弯曲度需要更大的力量才能实现顺滑的过渡。所以,在一些转折节点上,体现出力与美。

I decided to use the method of creating sculptures to achieve a combination of rigidity and softness, with steel bars becoming the best material for achieving this curved flow structure. The interrelationships between pine trees are complex, and precise drawing designs cannot be achieved using standard design drawings without specific surveying and mapping work. Together with two workers and masters, relying on on-site intuition, I used steel bars to create three curves between the eight pine trees, and the pine trees immediately became a whole. The top line defines the backrest on which the beauty rests, while the bottom two define the front and rear ends of the seat. The contour positioning and setting out are completed, and then the vertical reinforcement support is erected. The curved steel bars are inserted into the ground and intersect with the first three lines, and the intersection of the bidirectional curves is smoothly connected through repeated trial and error. Steel bars have toughness, and smaller curvature requires greater force to achieve smooth transitions. So, at some turning points, reflect strength and beauty.

凝固的流动

骨架结构完成之后的坐靠面层施工,采用钢筋同向平行顺置。有机曲线环绕松树,穿松走林,形态自由,俨然一条流动的银河。应对了苏轼诗中的那句话,“流而不返者,水也;不以时迁者,松柏也”,水的灵动在这个作品中凝固。苏轼是一位让人喜爱的文豪,苏轼的一生,波折起伏,但他就像流水一样,从来都能够在逆境中舞出精彩的人生,松树间的钢筋铸成的流水,就像苏轼的精神一样,作为向苏轼的致敬,美人靠命名为“苏子美人靠”。

和材料做朋友
Make friends with materials

路易斯·康说,要了解材料说的话。钢筋最为最基本建材,通常被混凝土包裹之后消失在建筑之中。这种因为粗糙不精致而被城市项目低估的材料,被我们重新认识并反复利用在多个乡建实践中。高强度、高韧性、易塑形、低成本的钢筋,在多靠在地施工经验完成的项目中,俨然具备明星材料属性。小于φ10mm,轻柔纤细,灵动性强,但不具备支撑强度;φ10-16mm直径既有一定强度,又在人力可实现的自由弯曲极限内,造型表现极佳。不同直径的钢筋,可做结构支撑,可自由在空间中穿行,也可以在空中舞蹈。顺应材料特性,匹配在地施工,和材料做朋友,实现新的高效、实用、美观。

Steel bars of different diameters can be used as structural supports, allowing for free passage through space and dancing in the air. Adapt to material characteristics, match on-site construction, and make friends with materials to achieve new efficiency, practicality, and aesthetics.

工匠精神
Craftsmanship spirit

在数次设计即施工的经验中,我也逐渐沉淀出乡建项目的流程和要义:确定大原则,保留可能性;低价策略,深度交流;鼓励能动性和创造性。当地匠人是工艺和材料的落地人,在力的转换方面他们有因人而异的发言权。因为要上手做,多大力道形成怎样的效果是在工匠手中完成。设计师需要和他们深度交流,目标一致会使营造工作变得流畅。工匠的经验也会在一些难点上给出及时反馈和局部变更,这些变更有时候会有问题,建筑师要进行修正。但很多时候,又会有着出其不意的效果产生,创造性的精细就在这些留有余地的可能性中出现。

Through several experiences of design and construction, I have gradually developed the process and essence of rural construction projects: determining major principles and retaining possibilities; Low price strategy, deep communication; Encourage initiative and creativity. Local craftsmen are the masters of craftsmanship and materials, and they have a unique say in the transformation of force. Because it takes a lot of effort to get started, what kind of effect is achieved in the hands of the craftsman. Designers need to have in-depth communication with them, and a consistent goal will make the construction work smoother. The experience of craftsmen will also provide timely feedback and local changes on some difficult points, which can sometimes have problems and architects need to make corrections. But often, there are unexpected effects that arise, and creative refinement appears in these possibilities with room for improvement.

美人靠既是自然中的户外坐具,更是自然中作为审美对象的物。在八棵松树的荫蔽下,为大家提供一个可供十几人同坐的空间,而作为座椅本身,美人靠流畅灵动的线条又成为自然中的观赏对象,恰似倚立松林中优雅的当代艺术品,借松林的坚定绿意勾勒一笔流动的银河。坐靠之上,邻里闲聊,儿童戏耍,情侣拍照,舞者舞蹈。美人靠在与不同人群的互动中,成为自然、艺术和人的桥梁。

The beauty seat is not only an outdoor seat in nature, but also an aesthetic object in nature. Under the shade of eight pine trees, providing a space for more than ten people to sit together, and as the seat itself, the beauty becomes a natural viewing object with its smooth and dynamic lines, just like leaning against the elegant contemporary art in the pine forest, drawing a flowing Milky Way with the firm green atmosphere of the pine forest. Sitting on top, chatting with neighbors, children playing, couples taking photos, dancers dancing. Beauty relies on interacting with different groups of people to become a bridge between nature, art, and humanity.
