Emilio Alarcón re-imagines EVOCATIVE PLAYGROUNDS
Madrid-based multidisciplinary creative Emilio Alarcón conceives‘Evocative Playgrounds’, a digital art project that reflects on children’s playgrounds bringing various play structures of different scales to life. Drawing from the design of spaceships, locomotives, boats, and zeppelins, the artist utilizes Midjourney text-to-image generating software to construct structures of vibrant colors primarily imagined as wooden volumes that include elements and accessories made of metal and plastic. By the means of artificial intelligence and a careful iterative process, the series illustrates several arrangements dedicated to children’s recreational games.

The playgrounds are integrated into the thematic design trend, specifically designed to foster children’s creativity and imagination. Each of the parks features a unique theme and offers play structures that stimulate symbolic play and storytelling. To capture the attention and curiosity of children, bright and vibrant colors have been strategically used. Vibrant red, yellow, and blue hues coat the play structures making specific elements visible and appealing, inviting children to explore and fully participate.‘In‘Evocative Playgrounds’, children can become astronauts, sailors, and explorers, immersing themselves in a world of pure imagination’, shares the designer.
