Revealing the Impact of Urban Form on COVID-19 Based on Machine Learning: Taking Macau as an Example

Abstract: The COVID-19 pandemic has prompted a reassessment of urban space, including planning and architecture. This study employs a conditional generative adversarial network (CGAN) to derive the distribution of urban texture based on COVID-19 hotspots. It establishes a link between urban form and the pandemic, enabling the machine to predict high-risk urban forms. The study focuses on Macau, conducting model training, image generation, and comparing results for different assumed epidemic distribution degrees. The implications for urban planning are as follows: 1) Urban forms exhibit a correlation with epidemic distribution, allowing CGAN to predict high-risk urban forms; 2) Large-scale and high-density buildings promote COVID-19 transmission; 3) Green public open spaces and squares inhibit COVID-19 spread; and 4) Reducing building volume and density while increasing green public spaces can help mitigate COVID-19 distribution. This research offers valuable insights and potential applications in planning and design. [SCITIP]

分享 11 月第一则喜讯之前，先讲一个前提条件：我是一个现实的人，我是一个鼠目寸光的人（本身我也属鼠啊！！！！），我是一个只看到眼前有什么要求就去做就去满足的人，明天和意外不知道何时降临，先做了再说，想不了那么遥远的事情。别跟我扯什么以后别人眼光怎么怎么看待，什么时候入土都不知道，想不了这么多😕。

讲回正题，这是一篇 8 月底投稿并于 11 月 2 日见刊的期刊论文《Revealing the Impact of Urban Form on COVID-19 Based on Machine Learning: Taking Macau as an Example》（基于机器学习揭示城市形态对 COVID-19 的影响——以澳门为例）。发表在《Sustainability》Volume 14，Issue 21，同时，属于 Special Issue Artificial Intelligence Applications for Sustainable Urban Living（人工智能应用在可持续城市生活）。全文加上附录大概 31 页。本人为第一作者，主笔、修改、返修核对、联络助理编辑、写 letter 逐点回应审稿人。Liang Zheng 主要提供技术支持（文章第二部分的算法、出图），师妹 Junxin Song 在文献综述的梳理和统计数据方面给予了较大支持，师弟 Linsheng Huang 在统计数据、翻译地名以及分析的一个小节上给予很大帮助。通讯的把关和指导思路也是非常重要的环节。最后加折扣是 1600 瑞士法郎，便宜两成。

2. 简单讲讲

这篇文章主要是通过澳门的城市形态切片进行机器学习，叠图当时 618 澳门疫情分布的热点图，发现疫情主要分布在怎样的区域？这个区域呈现的城市空间形态是什么样子的？具有什么特点？机器学习学会了这个训练集，我们再画一些不同形状的疫情分布点，让机器学习来推导出城市形态什么样。后续的可持续生活之中，设计人员可以做什么？然后展开了一些讨论、总结。

从我的账号看，前后花了 71 天。

其实内心会挣扎很久要不要投这个刊，因为，2020 年以前它曾经上过预警，2021 年又撤下来了。但是，于我而言，没差。按照我入学那一届的评鉴文件，这个刊 SCIE、SSCI、EI 都收录了，那还是算一级论文，我为什么不投？在我心里面，没有那么多的畏惧世俗眼光✊。

或许有人说什么水刊等同学术污点，但我更想说哦，又不是数据造假又不是代写，自己辛辛苦苦做的到底谁才是污点？难道发出来 CNS 顶刊的人才没有污点吗？未来就业又不是非要走学术道路，很多人起步也是发普刊而已，期刊合法，学术成果合规，即可，哪来的这么多的说法。

细心查一下，发现隔壁学院的副校长今年也发了这个刊。至少，在我读书的期间，我不用担心这个刊发表的论文导致我进行不了学术评鉴。本论文动态已同步微博。不打算同步朋友圈。
